legends of Country music with the
impressive Shawn Barker as Johnny Cash,
the incredible talents of Mandy Barnett as Patsy
Cline, Michael Twitty portraying his father Conway Twitty, and David Church as Hank Williams Sr. It will one incredible night for country music
fans. Conway Twitty alone had 50 number one records.
Over
two-hours of entertainment featuring four of America’s most beloved Country Legends. All someone needs to do is mention their
first names and just like the name Elvis is endeared in the hearts of millions
so are Johnny, Patsy, Conway
and Hank. Fans call them by their first
names but we call them Country Legends.
Shawn Barker as Johnny Cash
Shawn Barker hails from the St. Louis Missouri area. A former carpenter, Shawn started his musical career as an Elvis Tribute Artist. Auditioning for the part of Elvis, in a Hollywood production of "The Million Dollar Quartet,” the director asked Shawn to also send video of him portraying the other characters in the script. Shawn sent the video and was instantly cast as Johnny Cash. This started a one-year character study of Johnny Cash, his life, music, voice, and stage presence. Shawn's portrayal offers the high energy and classic look of the late Johnny Cash. Although Shawn portrays the younger Johnny Cash, his repertoire covers the late singers entire career including duets Johnny Cash performed with the late June Carter.
Mandy Barnett as Patsy Cline:
Seymour Stein, who introduced the world to Madonna, Seal, the Barenaked Ladies,
and k.d. lang, heard Mandy's voice and was, he said, “spellbound.” When Stein
launched Sire Records within Warner Music Group, Mandy was the first artist he
signed. Mandy's Sire Records project paired her with the undisputed pioneer of
the Nashville Sound, producer Owen Bradley. The album that they made together,
“I've Got a Right To Cry,” would be his final contribution to the community who
knew him through his work with legends Ernest Tubb, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn,
Patsy Cline, and Kitty Wells. Owen passed away four songs into the project, but
not before leaving his unmistakable mark on the album.
“I've Got a Right To Cry” was a huge critical success. “Rolling Stone” magazine
named it the top country album of 1999. Other stellar reviews appeared in
“People,” “Newsweek,” “Interview,” and multiple national newspapers. Mandy
appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno” as a result of her acclaim. Mandy tours regularly and is a frequent guest on the Grand Ole Opry. She
reprised her role as “Patsy Cline” in the acclaimed production “Always . . .
Patsy Cline” at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville,
Tennessee.
Michael Twitty as Conway Twitty
Country
music cherishes family tradition and Michael Twitty is an integral part of that
great heritage. He is the oldest son of rock and country legend Conway Twitty. Michael Twitty has taken his show around the world several times, from the
dynamic “Michael Twitty Show”, to the critically acclaimed “Memories of Conway
Show”, to the remarkable “Twitty Bird Show”. His many television appearances,
video releases and recordings have brought him even more recognition on an
international level. From Canada
to Japan,
Michael Twitty has won fans time and time again. Recently, Michael has been
taking his “Memories of Conway” show to various theaters around the country.
Michael takes you down memory lane, while he shares his thoughts of his Dad in
story and song. He will make you laugh, make you cry and he will definitely
entertain you.
David Church as Hank Williams Sr.
David Church has found success despite all odds. He is outside the box, of what Nashville defines as ‘marketable material.’ Being successful in any business takes hard work and perseverance, but in the music and entertainment business it takes even more. Amazingly, without a major hit on mainstream radio or even a record label, Church has millions of fans all over the world. Church has been featured on RFD-TV’s popular show, “Midwest Country” for over seven years. His popularity throughout the US, Canada, and now Europe continues to soar as he makes regular appearances on the show and tours throughout the world. Joe Jenson, producer of Midwest country continues to state, “Over the past 7 years, David continues to be our most popular, most requested artist. And the live audience continues to support the shows at the theater. His shows are always a sell out!”
Known for his uncanny ability to sound like “Hank”, David is a singer/songwriter and Nashville recording artist, and also performs and records his originals and other traditional country music. Together, these four artists will sing more #1 Country songs in a single night and therefore easily be recognized as one of the most incredible Country shows to ever take the stage of the Carson Center.
