Peter and Wendy Musical Theatre Summer Camp: June 24-28, 2019 (Ages 6-18)
When Captain Hook sends his right-hand man, Smee, on a quest to capture Peter Pan, it’s seemingly business as usual…at first. Little does Hook realize what fantastic adventures await him and his pirate posse in their search for the elusive Peter Pan. Mistaken identities, ever-morphing clouds, a classy crocodile, some very lost boys, and a fickle shadow all add to the mayhem. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Darling embark on a quest of their own and find themselves trekking everywhere from Hawaii to the North Pole in search of their three missing children. With help from the earth-friendly Neverlanders, exotic Neverland creatures, and faithful Tinker Bell, the Darling children are found, disputes are ultimately resolved, and everyone–including Captain Hook–finds a place where they truly belong.
The Peter and Wendy Musical Theatre Camp at the Carson Center is a 5-day Summer Musical Theatre intensive and performance opportunity for students ages 6-18. This year, the Carson Center and Missoula Children’s Theatre of Montana will present Peter and Wendy, an original musical production. Participants will open up the week with a relaxed open audition in our Myre River Room. This will be directed by Missoula Children’s Theatre touring actors and will be welcoming to all levels of talent. ALL students who participate in this audition will receive a role in the production. For those students interested in production and direction, there are Assistant Director Positions that will be cast by the MCT staff. Assistant Directors will help with the rehearsal process, as well as technical elements on the day of the production. When not rehearsing, campers will be involved in several different theater-based workshops taught by regional artists. This includes stage combat, movement for the actor, make-up, acting/scene work and characterization. Campers will perform on the Carson Center stage on the last day of camp for their friends and family. Performances are at 2:00 and 5:30 p.m.
The registration fee for this camp is $100.00. The camp schedule is Monday, June 24-Thursday, June 27, 10:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. and Friday, June 28, 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. CLICK to register.
