Box Office Supervisor (posted 11/17/24 - urgently hiring):

Box Office Supervisor

Position Summary: The Carson Center seeks a qualified, experienced individual to serve as Box Office Supervisor. This vital full-time position reports to the Box Office Manager and Executive Director.

 

Qualifications:

Tessitura Proficiency (CRM and Ticketing Software) is a top qualification for this role. Qualified individuals with box office experience will be trained in-house to become proficient in Tessitura and its operational uses across departments.

Primary duties include:

  • Support and assist the Box Office Manager with all box office operations, including sales, campaign management, communications, marketing, and website maintenance.
  • Handle the daily process of event ticket sales, including window sales, mail orders, phone orders, internet sales, group sales, and pre-sales for Donors & Members, artist fan clubs, and other VIPs.
  • Process Group Sales and communicate with Operations to follow through on space rentals or other accommodations.
  • Manage Educational (Class Acts) Reservations, Bookings, and Inquiries. Create invoices and ticket orders. Communicate with educators.
  • Serve as Ticket Officer at events, handling customer complaints and seating issues, and making last-minute changes for Front of House and Programming staff.
  • Prepare final reports for show settlements and the reconciliation of accounts for each event.
  • Perform Keyholder responsibilities, including securely locking all Box Office entrances, locking cash safe, and managing The Carson Center phone systems.
  • Assist the Box Office Manager with fraud mitigation. Provide top-notch customer service and assistance to patrons who purchase third-party tickets.
  • Produce regular sales reports and financial reports for the appropriate staff members.
  • Manage patron calls and emails about ADA seating and accommodations.
  • Maintain knowledge of ADA laws and regulations. 

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or communications.
  • 3-5 years of previous work experience.
  • Experience working with a ticketing system, especially Tessitura, is a bonus.
  • Retail sales experience and extensive experience handling cash and reconciliations.
  • Experience in a public-facing role with the ability to be positive, upbeat, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, problem-solve and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, database programs, EXCEL, word processing, publishing, Tessitura)
  • Highly skilled ability to communicate clearly and professionally in oral and written forms.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Building Services Associate

Immediately Hiring Multiple Candidates

Position: Event-Based Housekeeping/Event Labor

Join our team at The Carson Center, a vibrant hub for cultural events and performances, as an
Event-Based Housekeeping/Event Labor Building Services Associate. We are looking for dedicated individuals who can handle basic cleaning duties and assist in manual labor tasks such as setting up tables and chairs for events.

  • Perform cleaning tasks before, during, and after events to maintain a clean and organized venue.
  • Set up tables and chairs according to event requirements and layout plans.
  • Assist in general manual labor tasks as needed for event preparation and cleanup, including, but not limited to administrative offices, bathrooms, and other venue areas
  • Ensure the venue is presentable and ready for events in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, event setup, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event and non-event schedules.

Part-Time Bartender

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager

This position is part-time and event-driven; the schedule is determined by the event schedule and is not regular/steady. Applicants must be reliable and have access to phone or e-mail for scheduling purposes. Applicants must have reliable transportation. Duties consist of customer service, mixing drinks, serving beverages and other items, and constant interaction with customers and other staff. Event types range from performances to private events, such as receptions, parties, meetings, etc. Both daytime and nighttime hours are available. Training provided.

Duties

  • Bartending/Concessions - mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to customers during events
  • Customer Service - answering basic customer questions about the Carson Center
  • Setup and Cleanup of bar/concession areas before and after events
  • Other duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Manager

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Serving/Bartending experience preferred, but not necessary. (Training provided.)
  • Age: Applicants must be at least 20 years of age
  • Basic Math Skills

Demonstrated Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and customers
  • Ability to present a positive image and professional demeanor to customers
  • Ability to handle cash and add/subtract/multiply/divide dollar amounts without a calculator
