Access Arts and Access Spaces at the Carson Center – Making theater more accessible since 2019! The “Access Arts” Program provides free tickets to people who have never attended a performance at The Carson Center because of limited resources or other circumstances. Contributions to The Carson Center through The Fred Paxton Challenge will help The Carson Center provide a minimum of 10 tickets to every performance it presents. From Broadway musicals and sold-out concerts to family and faith-based programming, adults and children from all backgrounds will have the opportunity to experience the joy of live performing arts in Paducah's premier theatre setting. The Carson Center's mission of presenting professional artists and superb arts experiences for diverse audiences in the region to enjoy is paramount. We believe The Carson Center belongs to everyone and every individual deserves a great space for all ages to experience the arts together. The Carson Center’s programming promotes and enhances “community” – a community that is diverse in background, thought, and experiences. Therefore, we seek to bring together all members of our community. ALL are welcome and ALL have access to performances! Whether you have limited economic resources and have never attended a performance at the Carson Center, or you enjoy the Center and want to share your enjoyment with someone by donating, we have a seat waiting for you! Donate now through August 30, 2024, and your gift to The Carson Center, through its participation in the 2024 Fred Paxton Fund Challenge for Charities, will count THREE times! Paducah's inclusive Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration is only TWO WEEKS away! Be sure to purchase your ticket that includes a fried catfish dinner and reserved seating for the celebratory concert on the lawn as well as in the theater for an uplifting pre-dinner program. This year's celebration, emceed by Paducah native, NFL football player and actor Curtis Hamilton, will take place at The Carson Center in Downtown Paducah on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 5:00 PM with an inspiring program in the theater that includes performances from local artists, a keynote presentation from Toby Smith of McLeod Historic Site in South Carolina, and a Freedom Essay scholarship award presentation. This family-friendly 75-minute program will be followed by a celebratory picnic dinner on the The Carson Center Lawn with live music by renowned Memphis Band, John Williams and The A440. Reserved tickets are $25 and include a reserved seat in the theater for the program and a Catfish dinner catered by Big Ed’s. Seating for single ticket buyers is in Adirondack chairs on the lawn and live entertainment. Reserved seating on the lawn for sponsors and advance single ticket buyers will be at tables or in adirondack chairs. A cash bar with wine and beer will be available. Kids will enjoy a special Juneteenth craft. Free frozen treats are available to all while supplies last. Tickets can be purchased at thecarsoncenter.org
Broadway is Back at The Carson Center! Now announcing the 2024-2025 Broadway Series presented with Baptist Health and CSI. The season will kick off on October 10 with STOMP, the inventive and invigorating stage show that’s dance, music, and theatrical performance blended together in one electrifying rhythm. On October 23, the Tony-Award® winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, taking a groundbreaking look - from the point of view of both the parents and young people—at our complex, interconnected, and social media-filled lives, will take the stage. Then, the triumphant story of the Queen of Rock and Roll set to the pulse-pounding soundtrack of her most beloved hits, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on November 11. We are thrilled to offer a special Holiday add-on to your subscription package on December 5: Cirque Dreams Holidaze. Cirque Dreams Holidaze dazzles with a brilliant and whimsical family holiday spectacular. Wrapping up the season with a bang is Clue! Based on the fan-favorite 1985 Paramount Pictures movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is the ultimate whodunit that will leave you dying of laughter and keep you guessing until the final twist. Dear FireHouse and Warrant Patrons, Despite the sad news announced yesterday afternoon, the concert scheduled for April 20 at The Carson Center will still take place. FireHouse has just released the following statement: "We're sad to learn of the passing of CJ Snare, the original lead vocalist and a founding member of the musical group FireHouse. We were looking forward to CJ rejoining the band after recovering from surgery last fall. Unfortunately due to CJ's untimely passing, that won't be possible. FireHouse will however still be performing with Warrant on Saturday, April 20th at The Carson Center in Paducah, KY. Nate Peck, 2023 American Idol Golden Ticket recipient from Season 21, will be handling vocals. With CJ's blessing and full support, Nate has been singing with the band in CJ's absence over the past 6 months. CJ left an indelible mark on the music industry with his soaring vocals and the FireHouse music he helped craft. Reach for the Sky CJ! Your memory and your music will live on forever."
